Hi traders, I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from the activities here on the blog to concentrate my activities around the Montreal Traders Meetup group, which I founded back in 2014.
The Montreal Traders Meetup group has grown by leaps and bounds over the past year and we are now at over 1,000 traders in the Montreal area who meet up in person each and every month to discuss everything from trading systems, psychology, methodology, backtesting, algo trading, peak performance, cryptocurrencies, and everything in between.
I’ve received feedback from a number of readers of this blog who due to physical location just don’t have the opportunity to have access to a supportive trading community in their area.
Trading can be a very solitary endeavour and beyond the lack of social interaction, the other cost is the lack of perspective.
I’d like to bridge that gap here and share some of the learnings and perspectives we get at our meetups.
For the past couple of months, we’ve been exploring a new thematic approach for our monthly trader Meetups which I thought could really benefit the readers of this blog.
So starting this month I will begin to cross share this thematic approach with the readers of this blog to help deepen our understanding of these core themes.
How this will work is that each week I will introduce the idea/lesson of the week and introduce questions for your feedback, exercises to do offline, ideas to practice, and/or pertinent resources.
All of this usually culminates with the in-person Meetups (which you are welcome to join if you are in the Montreal area) where we’ll have presentations by myself or some of our other amazing guest speakers which will go into depth or give color to the theme of the month.
After each Meetup I will post the presentations on the blog for your viewing pleasure.I invite you to join me and take part in this new format and perspective over the course of the next several months.
